Well, I finally felt like checking out all the photos Fred posted. Obviously, I noticed his typo that said Sophia weighed 5 lbs 9 oz. I so wish that was the case, but the correction has been made to 9 lbs 5 oz. We knew she was going to be big but 2 weeks early and this size was crazy! Also, I'm not sure I would have approved of all the flattering photos of myself, but what the heck with the end result we got I don't care about how we made it here.
Fred just wanted to get some photos up so I'll fill in a few details. We had some loose ends to tie up at the lake house and the kids had a long weekend so we thought this would be our last chance to take care of it before Sophia arrived. We arrived in Detroit Lakes and I went up to take a nap and get my feet up. About an hour and a half later I was woken up by my water breaking. Very unexpected since I had just had a checkup the day before. Off to the hospital and was already 3-4 cm. After an epidural it was actually a good night. Unfortunately, her size was not playing in my favor so she was born by c-section at 9:05 AM.
We are so lucky to have my parents here to watch Jocelyn and Dylan while Fred is being a huge help at the hospital. Sorry to Karen and Jodi for being so far away. I'm feeling pretty good for the most part. I think I'm battling a bit of an infection but they are taking good care of me me here. We'll keep you posted with more photos soon.
